The PFA Player of the Year award is the most prestigious personal accolade on offer in the English game and this years shortlist features an awful lot of quality. David De Gea, David Silva, Harry Kane, Leroy Sane, Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah are the men fighting it out to be named the best and it’s a tough one to call. All six of them have a strong claim to win the trophy for the first time but it’s set to be dominated by two players. Salah and De Bruyne are the clear frontrunners according to the bookmakers and the pair come into this following magnificent seasons.Kevin De Bruyne has developed into one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola, contributing 22 goals (7G 15A) this season and playing a vital part in their double winning season.
Whilst Mohamed Salah of Liverpool has taken the top flight by storm, scoring a jaw dropping 30 goals already which puts him on course to set a new Premier League. But players are more than worthy of winning it but it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top at Sundays event.
