With the season now all but over, it's the turn of the play-offs to provide us with our football fix. Tuesday night saw West Brom and Aston Villa lock horns in a West Midlands derby at the Hawthorns; Craig Dawson's first-half header was enough to take the tie to penalties, where Villa came out on top, winning 4-3 in the shootout.
Wednesday saw one of the games of the season as Derby travelled to Elland Road to take on Leeds United, six goals later and it was Frank Lampard left smiling at full-time as the Rams ran out 4-2 winners courtesy of goals from Jack Marriott (2), Mason Mount and Scott Malone. Lamps and John Terry will now face each other in a mouthwatering showdown at Wembley on Bank Holiday Monday.
Elsewhere, Portsmouth were dumped out of the League One play-offs by Sunderland, which will see them face the winner of this evening's tie between Charlton and Doncaster in the final at Wembley in just over a week's time. Tranmere and Newport County will battle it out in the League Two play-off final after they beat Forest Green Rovers and Mansfield Town respectively.
