The domestic football season is drawing to its conclusion which means only one thing – the World Cup is just around the corner. On 14th June Russia take on Saudi Arabia at Luzhniki Stadium with the planets attention solely focused on them. It’s the first time that Russia have hosted the tournament and they’ll be desperate to produce a successful event for the billions of spectators around the globe. This will be the 21st World Cup and the usual suspects are amongst the favourites to go all the way in Eastern Europe.
Brazil, France, Spain and reigning Champions Germany dominate the betting when it comes to winning the tournament but as England fans we’ll be secretly optimistic that we can cause an upset. It’s pretty fair to say that confidence amongst the nation isn’t too high at the moment but once kick-off gets closer there’s no doubt that the excitement will build!
With the biggest show on earth now within touching distance we’ve put together a quiz that’ll really test your knowledge from over the years. It’s based on players to have won the Top Scorer, Best Player, Best Young Player & Best Goalkeeper from the previous five World Cup’s and it really isn’t easy. There’s 20 answers to guess in total and we’ve given you a total of five minutes to name as many as possible.
