The World Cup is widely regarded as footballs elite competition and every four years we're treated to seeing some of the best teams and players around. It's been in existence since 1930, with 32 nations coming through a tough qualification process to battle it out for the honour of being named World Champion. In this years edition, Russia are the host nation for the first time and it's been an interesting - but exciting - tournament so far over in Eastern Europe.
There was some uncertainty that clouded the awarding of the competition to Russia but so far they've delivered a successful event and it's going to be interesting to see who's celebrating lifting the trophy on 15th July. This is the 21st official FIFA World Cup and the hosts have been confirmed right the way through to 2026 - with the winning bid recently announced by the games governing body.
