Barcelona vs Inter Milan Prediction

Barcelona enter their Champions League semi-final tie with Inter Milan as favourites, as Blaugrana are in red-hot form and will be full of confidence having beaten Real Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey - a victory which extended their domestic unbeaten run to 19 matches.

Hansi Flick’s men have won five of their last six home Champions League games, scoring 17 times, following victories over Young Boys (5-0), Bayern Munich (4-1), Brest (3-0), Benfica (3-1) and Borussia Dortmund (4-0) while drawing 2-2 at home with Atalanta.

Inter Milan are currently on a three-game losing streak following shock defeats to Bologna, AC Milan and AS Roma, having failed to score in any of those matches. In their away Champions League matches, Inter have only scored more than one goal twice, doing so against Feyenoord (2-0) and Bayern Munich (2-1).

The Both Teams to Score market has landed in three of Barcelona’s last four matches, something that we expect to be repeated here, with Barcelona coming out on top.

Prediction: Barcelona 3-1 Inter Milan

Barcelona vs Inter Milan Prediction & Preview

On Wednesday night, Barcelona hosts Inter Milan in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Date: 30/04/2025

Location: Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

Time: 8pm

The last meeting between these two sides came back on 12th October 2022, a game that saw Inter Milan take a 3-2 lead in the 89th-minute of the game through Robin Gosens before Robert Lewandowski fired in a dramatic 92nd-minute goal.

Barcelona are looking to try and win a quadruple this campaign, as they beat Real Madrid 5-2 in the Supercopa de Espana final, before defeating their El Clásico rivals 3-2 in the Copa del Rey final at the weekend as Jules Koundé scored a sensational long-range goal in the dying minutes of extra time.

Blaugrana sit four points clear of Real Madrid in La Liga with just five games to go, while in the Champions League, Barca have managed to progress past the likes of Benfica (4-1) and Borussia Dortmund (5-3) to reach the semi-finals after finishing second in the Group Stage with 19 points from eight matches.

Inter Milan’s chances of winning a treble were ended with a 4-1 aggregate defeat to AC Milan in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, while in Serie A, they have since fallen three points behind Napoli with just four matches to go.

In the Champions League, Simone Inzaghi’s men have earned impressive 4-3 and 4-1 aggregate wins over Bayern Munich and Feyenoord in the knockout stages following their fourth-place finish in the Group Stage.

Form Guide

Barcelona

As previously mentioned, Barcelona managed to beat Real Madrid 3-2 in the Copa del Rey final last time out as Pedri, Ferran Torres and Jules Koundé all got on the scoresheet.

Prior to that match, Barcelona managed to beat Mallorca (1-0) as Dani Olmo scored the only goal of the game after further victories over, Celta Vigo (4-3) and Leganes (1-0) while beating Borussia Dortmund 5-3 on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Inter Milan

Inter Milan have failed to win any of their last four matches since beating Cagliari 3-1 on 12th April where Mark Arnautovic, Lautaro Martinez and Yann Bisseck all found the back of the net.

Following that win, Inter confirmed their place in the Champions League’s semi-finals with a 2-2 home draw against Bayern Munich, ultimately seeing them win 4-3 on aggregate.

Simone Inzaghi’s side are in danger of seeing their season completely collapse, as they have suffered damaging 1-0 league defeats to both Bologna and AS Roma on either side of a 3-0 home loss to AC Milan in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.
