Liverpool face the mammoth task of overturning a 2-0 aggregate deficit against holders Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last eight this week.
The Reds were battered from pillar to post in Paris last week and were deserved losers. They'll feel fortunate to be only 2-0 down as the game could easily have produced a four or five-goal haul for the home side. Liverpool will have to draw all the energy they can from the Anfield crowd if they're to turn this around, and the fans will no doubt know they have a huge role to play here.
The Reds' form isn't particularly impressive, with two wins and three defeats from their last five games. They've generally been better at Anfield though, with just one loss from their last ten games.
Liverpool's games are rarely boring encounters, and 60% of their last ten matches have produced over 2.5 goals.
PSG, on the other hand, look to be peaking at the business end of the season once again as they enter this game on the back of five successive wins. Just like last season, the Parisians are surging after a mediocre first half of the campaign and many are tipping them to win back-to-back European titles.
With eight of their last ten games seeing over 2.5 goals scored, it's fair to expect this one to be an entertaining affair, particularly considering PSG's firepower. Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia seems to have a particular affinity with this competition, and he comes into this game with six goals in his last seven games.
Ultimately, Liverpool have been searching for their best form all season and have been well short of it, so expecting them to miraculously turn it on at the final hurdle is likely a fool's errand.
