Blackburn Rovers and Reading will clash at Ewood Park this Wednesday night in the Championship with the home side aiming to get right back in the win column after a stunning loss to Stoke City last time out.
Rovers went 3-0 down to Stoke in the last game and eventually brought the game back to 3-2. This has now brought Blackburn down into fourth and they have lost grip on third by quite a lot, as they now sit behind Middlesbrough by five points in the league table. What's more, they are above Millwall by one point and behind Luton Town in fourth by just two points, so their playoff hopes are still well on track.
Rovers are coming into this one with their last win being against second-placed Sheffield United, thanks to an early goal from Harry Pickering.
The club also meet with the Blades this weekend in a FA Cup quarter-finals battle having defeated Premier League side Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in the fifth round two weeks ago. In fact, the recent loss to Stoke was just the second loss in 2023 for Jon Dahl Tomasson's side, as Rotherham United smashed them 4-0 back in January.
As for Reading, they are in dreadful form and without a goal, a point and having let in seven goals in the past three games. The Royals defeated Blackpool at the end of February, but they have since gone on to lose 5-0 to Middlesbrough, 1-0 to Sheffield United and 1-0 to Millwall.
