For our Blackburn vs. Sheffield United prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
We have a significant clash at the top of the Championship this weekend as Blackburn Rovers welcome Sheffield United to Ewood Park.
Blackburn Rovers currently sit 4th in the Championship with seventeen wins, four draws and thirteen losses from thirty-four games this season.
Rovers have had a fine season under manager Jon Dahl-Tomasson, who's having an excellent debut season in England as he has what is a technically limited squad competing for a play-off spot with just twelve games remaining.
They enter this game amidst a strong run of form having won each of their last four consecutive matches in all competitions having gone unbeaten in their last ten matches now.
Most recently, Rovers claimed their standout result of the season as they beat Premier League side Leicester City away from home by two goals to one in the FA Cup fifth round. Not only was the result impressive, but Tomasson's side delivered their most impressive performance in recent memory having outplayed their Premier League opponents in almost every department.
Their home record has been strong of late too, with Rovers winning three and drawing two of their last five matches on home soil having won each of their last two.
Blackburn look as though they might be peaking at the right time this season as they look to end the campaign strongly and secure a top six finish. This weekend presents one of the league's most difficult tasks but on current form they'll the confident of a result.
Sheffield United currently sit 2nd in the Championship with nineteen wins, seven draws and seven losses from thirty-three games this season.
The Blades are enjoying an excellent campaign in England's second tier as they find themselves well placed to secure promotion back to the Premier League with little of the season remaining.
They enter this game amidst a decent run of form having won three and lost two of their last five matches in all competitions, but having won each of their last two they'll feel as though they've overcome a small blip of two consecutive losses.
Their most recent outing saw them claim a huge 1-0 win in the FA Cup against Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. The Blades were deserved winners on the night and that victory could provide them with the momentum boost needed to see out the final stretch of the campaign.
Their away form, however, is somewhat of a concern coming into this game with The Blades having won only one of their last five matches on the road.
They did beat Blackburn quite comfortably when the two sides met in the league back in August (3-0), but being away from home this time the game will likely be much more competitive. Expect a tight encounter here with the two sides possibly cancelling one another out.
