Bristol City will open the gates of Ashton Gate this Friday night with the Robins playing hosts to Leeds United to kick off the Championship action for the weekend where the home side aims to get into the top half.
Bristol are currently down in 13th ahead of this game with 10 wins on the board, eight draws and 11 defeats. They are also heading into this one with the same amount of goals scored as they have let in with 33 going in at either end. The Robins are, however sitting with just two wins in the past 10 games, beating only West Ham United in the FA Cup within the past month.
The club have managed to draw their three games since that famous win over the Premier League side, as they drew 1-1 with Watford thanks an equaliser from Scott Twine, as they went on to draw 0-0 at home to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fourth round to set up a replay next Wednesday.
During the week, Bristol got a commendable draw away to Coventry City, as Robert Dickie and Nakhi Wells scored before a late equaliser from the Sky Blues. It does still keep the club adrift of the top half of the table by one point, however, having lost one less game than Preston North End, while winning one less too.
As for Leeds, they remain in fourth but with a gap of 14 points on the spots outside of the playoffs in seventh, and in truth, it would be nothing short of a disaster if the club were to not make it into the playoffs this season as a result.
The Whites are coming into this one with six draws and six losses in the Championship so far, and this has seen them put together the third-best goals scored record with 51 and the second-best defensive record with only 26 let in. Leeds are also unbeaten in the past month, scoring 12 times and conceding only a goal to Norwich City and Plymouth Argyle. The latter game was, however, in the FA Cup, meaning they may also have one eye on their replay with the Pilgrims next week, just as Bristol will.
