West Bromwich Albion are up into eighth after a return to the win column over the past week with the Baggies set to head to South Wales to meet with a Cardiff City side still hovering just above the drop zone.
Cardiff have fallen back to losing ways in the past week with a defeat to Preston North End. It also saw Cardiff lose by that scoreline for the second time in the past four games with two suspensions picked up in this time as well. The South Wales outfit have also gone on to defeat Bristol City 2-0 and Reading 1-0 in the past few games, but they remain down in 21st with 10 wins on the board and 18 defeats too.
It keeps them six points above the bottom three, as Blackpool Huddersfield and Wigan Athletic all sit on 32 points. The main issue for Cardiff right now is their goalscoring record - their 27 goals scored is the worst in the Championship in 2022/23.
As for West Brom, they are sitting in eighth now after beating Wigan Athletic 1-0 and Huddersfield Town 1-0. They also are one of the only teams to defeat Middlesbrough in the time Michael Carrick has thrown them up into third, as the Baggies beat them 2-0. They did, however, lose to Hull City 2-0 a few weeks back.
