Huddersfield vs. Coventry Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Huddersfield vs. Coventry prediction, we're going for a 1-0 win for the away side.

Huddersfield Town are searching for a much-needed win as they welcome Coventry City to the John Smith’s Stadium this weekend.

Huddersfield Town currently sit 22nd in the Championship with eight wins, seven draws and eighteen losses from thirty-three games this season.

It’s been a fairly grim season for The Terriers, who’ve struggled to come remotely close to the heights they hit last season after reaching the play-off final.

They enter this game amidst a poor run of form having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five matches in the league.

Most recently Huddersfield fell to a 4-0 thumping away at league leaders Burnley, a result that while not unexpected will still be harmful to squad morale.

Their record at home has been fairly decent of late having won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four matches on home soil.

The Terriers are currently four points from safety with a game in hand over Cardiff in 21st so there’s no need to panic yet, but their form needs to improve if they’re to give themselves a good chance of securing safety. In terms of this matchup, they face a tough test against a solid side.

Coventry City currently sit 10th in the Championship with thirteen wins, ten draws and eleven losses from thirty-four games this season.

The Sky Blues have had a fine campaign in England’s second tier as they enter this game with a legitimate shot at making the play-offs this year as we enter the final stretch of the campaign.

They’re coming into this game amidst a strong run run of form having gone unbeaten in their last five matches, winning three of their last four.

Their most recent outing saw them held to a 0-0 draw away at Preston North End, a result that will have disappointed them slightly after three straight wins.

Their away record hasn’t been great lately having lost three of their last five on the road, but having taken four points from their last two on the road they will feel as though they’ve turned a corner.

Coventry beat Huddersfield 2-0 when the two sides met in the league back in January so they can be confident of repeating their heroics here.

If Coventry are to make the play-offs this year then games against relegation fodder are ones they cannot afford to lose. Given Huddersfield’s form Coventry should win this one.
