Hull vs Norwich Prediction, Tips & Stats

Just under five months on from the opening day fixture between Hull City and Norwich City, the two promotion hopefuls will clash for the second time this season with the Tigers aiming to go into the weekend in the playoffs.

Hull are currently behind sixth-placed Sunderland by just one point, which means the club can go into the top six and the playoff positions on Friday night, as the likes of the Black Cats don't play until Saturday. On the other hand, Hull did lose this reverse fixture 2-1 and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their past five games.

Liam Delap was amongst the goals once again for the Tigers in that defeat to Norwich, as Jonathan Rowe hit a stunning shot from distance into the Hull goal before Adam Idah won it in dramatic style with a 96th-minute finish. The two sides have stayed relatively close to one another in the league table since then, as Norwich trail Hull by four points and are still well within a shout of a playoff finish.

Hull have, however, just suffered a loss to relegation-fighting Sheffield Wednesday and have also lost to Bristol City, Sunderland and drew with Birmingham City in the FA Cup last time out. Within the past month, the club have only managed to defeat Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City, both of which have been at home.

Norwich are down in 13th and also drew their recent FA Cup clash with a draw against Bristol Rovers. The Canaries also drew with Southampton back on New Year's Day and after also losing to West Bromwich Albion and Millwall, the club have only two wins in the past month. These victories have seen the Canaries beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 at Carrow Road and also edge past Huddersfield Town 2-0 with two second half finishes.

Marcelino Nunez 2+ fouls committed is boosted to EVENS in this game after he committed four fouls in the last outing. Jonathan Rowe to score from outside the area is also up at 28/1 - Rowe scored from outside the area in the reverse fixture that saw Norwich win 2-1. 2+ shots on target each team in each half also comes in at 7/2, and you can get odds off Aaron Connolly and Adam Idah both to score once more.

          Hull team news

Noss Traore and Jean Seri are both at the Africa Cup of Nations and will miss at least the rest of the month. Ruben Vinagre and Dogukun Sinik are close to comebacks but won't do so here. Tyler Morton is out with a suspension after the red card against Sheffield Wednesday.

          Norwich team news

Dimitris Giannoulos will not feature here for Norwich after picking up a knock in the last game, while Ui-Jo Hwang is also out injured after coming off in the New Year's Day encounter. Ben Gibson is also not ready to return here. However, the Carrow Road faithful can finally see Jonathan Rowe and Josh Sargent link up again with the American returning last time out, two weeks after Rowe did so. Ashley Barnes scored over the weekend against Bristol and may also get some more game time here with Marcelino Nunez. Adam Idah is also campaigning for a spot in the starting XI, with Norwich's improved injury list seeing a handful of attacking players available.
