Two promotion hopefuls meet in one of the biggest games of the Championship season as second-placed Ipswich Town takes on their biggest challengers for the automatic promotion spot, Leeds United just a few weeks on from their first meeting.
Leeds have had a sensational season, but they still remain way adrift of Ipswich Town, despite their incredible results against them and Leicester City. The Whites have managed to do the double over the league leaders Leicester, while Leeds have also managed to beat Ipswich at Portman Road right at the start of the season in a thrilling match.
An own goal from Joe Rodon gave Ipswich the lead back in August, but a goal each from Georginio Rutter, Wilfried Gnoto and Joel Piroe inside the first 20 minutes gave Leeds a 3-1 lead before Nathan Broadhead brought one back. Luis Sinisterra brought Leeds further ahead before Conor Chaplin netted in the dying seconds of the game.
Nevertheless, despite these incredible wins for last season's relegated Premier League side, Leeds remain 10 points behind Ipswich in the race for the top two spots, and a loss here would be very damaging to those hope of a spot in the top two come the end of the season.
Both these sides drew in midweek with Leeds being held to a 1-1 draw with Coventry City at home, as Ipswich went 2-0 down to Norwich City at home but came back to grab a point at 2-2.
