Millwall vs. Preston Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Millwall vs. Preston prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

We have an intriguing class in the Championship this weekend between two play-off contenders as Millwall and Preston North End lock horns.

Millwall currently sit 5th in the Championship with seventeen wins, eleven draws and thirteen losses from forty-one games this season.

The Lions are having an excellent season as they chase a play-off spot act has eluded them for so long, but with a tight gap amongst several inconsistent sides nothing is guaranteed.

They enter this game in poor form having drawn two and lost two of their last four matches, the most recent of which was a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Hull City.

The loss at Hull was a deflating one and was The Lion's fourth straight game without scoring a goal, a feat that suggests they seem to suffering a dip at the worst possible time of the season.

Their form at home has tailed off significantly too, with Gary Rowett's side winning just one of their last five games on home soil, drawing two and losing two of the other four.

Millwall really need three points here to try and regain some momentum at a crucial time, but they're facing a side bang in form here and will find it tough.

Preston North End currently sit 7th in the Championship with seventeen wins, eleven draws and thirteen losses from forty-one games this season.

PNE have had an up and down season in terms of form and looking to have settled for a mediocre mid-table finish just a few weeks back, but an excellent recent run of form has catapulted them into play-off contention as they sit outside of the top six on goal difference only.

They enter this game in scintillating form having won four of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win over Reading at Deepdale at the weekend.

The win came via a 92nd minute winner from Brad Potts and will do wonders for squad morale given the dramatic nature of the win. The win also confirmed Preston's thirds straight victory.

Their form away from home has been solid too, with PNE winning two of their last three games on the road.

Preston were beaten 2-4 by Millwall back in November and will be determined to take revenge here, as a win would mean they usurp Millwall in the top six.

Despite Millwall's poor form this is still likely to be a tight encounter that's tough to predict.

            Millwall Team News

Duncan Watmore and Andreas Voglsammer are both pushing to come back into the starting XI following a dry spell in front of goal for Millwall, with Oliver Burke expected to be relegated to the bench.

            Preston Team News

Ryan Lowe could stick with the same XI that started the win over Reading last time out.

If any changes are to be made then Ryan Ledson could start in midfield.
