Norwich and Millwall are looking for swift returns to the win column this weekend when they meet at Carrow Road following on from dodgy starts in the 2023/24 season where both sides are expected to compete for the playoffs once more.
The Canaries finished in their lowest Championship finish for over a decade last season when they ended up in 13th. Teemu Pukki has now left the squad too for Minnesota United and the club hasn't exactly got much stronger over the summer.
Norwich kicked off their latest Championship campaign with a 2-1 win over Hull City where Adam Idah scored in the 96th minute of the game. A stunning 4-4 draw against Southampton would follow that win, as the club took the lead on one occasion and fell behind three other times. In the end, the Saints scored with a finish in the 94th minute of the game to share the points.
Norwich did return to winning ways in some regard during the week, as, once again, there was a winner in stoppage time for them. It was Jonathan Rowe with his second goal of the season, as he managed to score in the 99th minute of the game in a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the EFL Cup first round.
As for Millwall, it's been a topsy-turvy start for them in the new season with a 1-0 victory away to Middlesbrough on the opening weekend that saw Romain Esse score in the second half. The Lions were then defeated by Reading in the EFL Cup first round with a stunning 4-0 battering at home.
The losing form continued for the London side with a 1-0 defeat at The Den to Bristol City. Across these two home defeats, Millwall saw just five shots on target throughout both games and have now scored only once in their first three games of the season.
