The Canaries host a struggling QPR this weekend, in a game that both teams will be desperate to win. The Hoops have failed to beat Norwich since 2018, although each meeting in the Championship last season ended in a draw.
Norwich
The Norwich faithful will be disappointed with the way their side has started the new campaign under David Wagner and they sit in 16th place on 20 points after 16 matches. The Canaries have been entertaining however, with goals going in at both ends of the field consistently. Norwich score the joint second most goals (29) whilst conceding the joint most (32). They boast a record of four wins and four defeats at home in eight matches, but they have lost their last three at Carrow Road.
Last time out, Wagner's side won their first game after five defeats in their prior six matches. Norwich took the lead versus Cardiff just after 20 minutes but they were 2-1 down by half-time. It looked set that they would endure another defeat but two quickfire goals in the 82nd and 84th minute secured the three points.
QPR
After 16 matches, QPR find themselves one place above bottom on 10 points, winning only twice all season. The Hoops have been uninspiring at both ends of the field, scoring just 11 goals and conceding 27, whilst failing to score in 44% of their matches. QPR boast the worst home record in the league, failing to win even once, yet their away form is not horrific, picking up 80% of their points on the road.
QPR are unbeaten since the arrival of new boss, Marti Cifuentes, picking up two draws. The latest of those occurred last time out versus Bristol City, with the game concluding 0-0. Neither side created anything or looked likely to win. The hosts even failed to register a shot on target.
Verdict?
Norwich simply have to win this game and that late win will give the side a huge confidence boost. QPR seem to be focusing on perfecting defensive stability but that is impacting their performance in attack. The Canaries should win this game.
The final prediction is Norwich 2-0 QPR.
