For our Norwich City vs Sheffield United Prediction, we are going for a draw.
One of the more intriguing games in the Championship sees two of the top seven battle it out at Carrow Road. Norwich City faces Sheffield United, with both teams harbouring hopes of promotion as we approach the final weeks of the season.
Norwich City was touted as one of the automatic promotion favourites along with league leaders Burnley at the start of the season. However, it is clear to see they have been far off the pace this season - hence the managerial change.
David Wagner replaced Dean Smith in early January, and since his arrival, the Canaries have picked up 22 points from a possible 36 available. Wagner has valuable experience at this level having achieved the unlikely promotion to the Premier League with Huddersfield Town in 2017. The 51-year-old had spent time away from England, with the likes of FC Schalke 04 and BSC Young Boys. His time at Young Boys was fondly remembered for the famous 2-1 win over Manchester United in the Champions League.
Wagner's current side is in seventh place, and a win over Sheffield United would move them into the top six. It would require Millwall to drop points in their game against West Bromwich Albion. The hosts have played the same number of games as Millwall but a game less than West Brom, who could leapfrog them - if they beat Millwall.
Norwich City enters this game with a mixed-form display in their last five fixtures. The Canaries have only won two of those five games, drawing twice and losing once. Their most recent victory was a 3-2 win away at Millwall - despite a late goal from Millwall's Zian Flemming.
The reverse fixture between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw despite a brace from the top scorer for Norwich City, Teemu Pukki.
As for the visitors, Sheffield United, they need a win to keep up the promotion, with Middlesbrough hot on their heels. The Championship title looks to be heading to Turf Moor as Burnley are 13 points clear of the Blades. The away side is currently in second place, only three points clear of third-placed Middlesbrough.
Under the guidance of former Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom, the Blades look on course to secure a return to the Premier League after a season away. They have also enjoyed cup exploits along the way - it seems like that will end at the hands of Manchester City.
Sheffield United have slightly better form heading into this game, however. The Blades have won three out of their last five games - with two away wins in their last three on the road. The two players to keep an eye on for Sheffield United are Oliver McBurnie and James McAtee, on-loan from Manchester City. McBurnie is the top scorer for the Blades with 13 goals, and McAtee has nine goal contributions since his loan move to Bramall Lane.
