For our Preston vs. Cardiff prediction, we're going for a 1-0 win for the away side.
Cardiff City continue their attempt to pull away from the Championship relegation zone ad they travel up north to face Preston North End this weekend.
Preston North End currently sit 12th in the Championship with twelve wins, eleven draws and twelve losses from thirty-five games this season.
Their record is almost perfectly mediocre and that's essentially what they've been this season. They've never looked like being dragged into the relegation battle and never truly threatened to join the play-off race as they now look side to glide to a mid-table finish.
They enter this game amidst a middling run of form having won one and drawn four of their last five matches.
That run effectively typifies Preston's season as they've scored just three times in that five game stretch having registered three 0-0 draws.
Preston's home form hasn't been great of late having won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five matches on home soil so there could be some concern here in that regard.
Preston fans are effectively waiting for the season to end at this point with their team failing to entertain or do anything meaningful. This fixture could be something of a banana skin for them given what is on the line for Cardiff so expect a tight game.
Cardiff City currently sit 21st in the Championship with ten wins, eight draws and seventeen losses from thirty-five games this season.
The Bluebirds have had a difficult campaign for the most part having spent much of the last few months battling in the relegation mix, but having secured some big wins in recent weeks things are starting to look more positive.
They enter this game having won three of their last four matches with all three wins coming with clean sheets, with the aggregate scoreline totalling 5-0.
Their most recent game saw them secure an invaluable 2-0 win over Bristol City.
Cardiff's away form is slightly concerning, though, having won one and lost four of their last five matches on the road but having played a number of play-off contenders in that period they can be forgiven.
Cardiff drew 0-0 with Preston when the two sides met back in August and it's safe to expect a similarly tight game this time around. However, with their lives on the line sitting just six points clear of the relegation zone Cardiff may just nick this one.
