QPR vs. Blackburn Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our QPR vs. Blackburn prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

Blackburn Rovers continue their quest for a top six finish in the Championship and they face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this weekend.

Queens Park Rangers currently sit 18th in the Championship with ten wins, nine draws and fourteen losses from thirty-three games this season.

The Hoops have had one of the most peculiar seasons in the league having started like a house on fire, looking as though they were primed to contest for automatic promotion this year. However, a sharp dip in form lead to manager Michael Beale departing for Glasgow Rangers, and that downturn only proceeded to intensify as a dismal run has lead to Beale's replacement, Neil Critchley, being relieved of his duties.

Critchley's replacement is Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth, a man who's consistently allowed Wycombe to punch above their weight in the EFL having guided them to the play-off final last season.

He has quite the job on his hands, though, as his team enter this game having failed to win any of their last eleven matches, drawing one and losing four of their last five.

Most recently, The Hoops were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Middlesbrough, a result that confirmed a third consecutive loss by an aggregate scoreline of 8-2.

Gareth Ainsworth is, funnily enough, a lifelong Blackburn Rovers fan and he'll face his boyhood club in the opening game of the biggest job of his career. QPR have stooped to just eight points above the relegation zone and need to start picking up points swiftly.

Blackburn Rovers currently sit 4th in the Championship with sixteen wins, four draws and thirteen losses from thirty-three games this season.

Rovers are still hanging on to their promotion candidacy having declined notably after their early season success that had them gunning for a spot in the automatic promotion places.

They enter this game having won consecutive matches in the league for the first time since October following successive 1-0 wins against Swansea City and most recently Blackpool, a win that took Rovers' unbeaten run to six in the league (W2 D4 L0).

Rovers have been struggling in front of goal for months now and they enter this game having scored just five goals in their last six matches. Equally, though, they've conceded just three goals in that period so they're making up for their impotency going forward with strong defensive showings.

Rovers beat QPR 1-0 on the opening day of the season and while The Hoops are a significantly worse outfit than they were back then Blackburn must be wary of the classic new manager bounce that could empower QPR this weekend. Such a factor makes this game a tough one to predict, but it could be a close one.

Chris Willock, Leon Balogun, Ethan Laird, Jake Clarke-Salter and Lyndon Dykes are all out injured for The Hoops while Tyler Roberts is a doubt.

            Blackburn Team News

Blackburn will be without as many as eight first team players here, including Ben Brereton Diaz, Bradley Dack and Thomas Kaminski.

Hayden Carter and Callum Brittain should come into the starting XI here.
