Swansea vs. Coventry Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Swansea vs. Coventry prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.

Coventry City are looking to keep their play-off hopes alive as they face Swansea City in the Championship on Friday.

Swansea City 15th in the Championship with thirteen wins, ten draws and sixteen losses from thirty-nine games this season.

The Swans were expected by many to challenge for the play-offs coming into this season but the reality has fallen well short of those projections with the Welsh side spending the majority of the campaign deep in the bottom half.

Still, they've given their fans something to cheer about this season after beating bitter rivals Cardiff City 3-2 away from home at the weekend courtesy of a Ben Cabango winner in the 99th minute to complete a second consecutive league double.

The win means Swansea have now won their last two games on the bounce and despite losing there prior three games they enter this game in good shape.

Their form at home has been fairly mediocre having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games on home soil.

Swansea's fate is nothing more than a mediocre mid-table finish but they'll want to finish the season strongly to help build a solid foundation from which to work off going into next season. They face a tricky opponent here but they're arguably in a more healthy state.

Coventry City currently sit 8th in the Championship with fifteen wins, twelve draws and twelve losses from thirty-nine games this season.

After an abysmal start to the campaign that had them rooted to the foot of the table for many of the opening weeks, Coventry have done extremely well to drag themselves into play-off contending but they're coming off the back of a very sobering result that has dashed any hopes of a top six finish.

Last weekend Coventry were comprehensively bettered 0-4 at home by Stoke City in a a result few would have expected.

They're still only four points shy of the play-off spots, having played a game more than Blackburn Rovers in 6th, but the result does not bode well for their forthcoming fixture schedule.

Their form away from home still reads very promisingly, with The Sky Blues winning three and drawing two of their last five games on the road.

These two sides served up a cracking 3-3 draw when they met back in December, and while this game might not live up to that encounter in terms of entertainment it should be similarly competitive.

          Swansea Team News

Steven Benda continues to miss out between the sticks for The Swans with Andy Fisher continuing to play the role of reliable deputy.

Luke Cundle will likely lose his place here with Jay Fulton in line to start.

          Coventry Team News

Coventry have no fresh injury concerns for this one but a change or two is likely on the cards after a battering against Stoke last time out.

Michael Rose could start in defence for The Sky Blues while Jamie Allen and Tyler Walker are both vying for a spot in the starting lineup.
