The Terriers travel to Wales this weekend, where they will face Swansea. Both sides have only won once in their last five matches, but the hosts go into the tie as favourites.
Swansea
The Swans have struggled recently after a spell of four straight wins at the start of October. The lack of consistency this season has put Swansea in 18th place, picking up 20 points from 18 matches. Michael Duff’s side boasts average goals scored (25) and goals conceded (26) statistics. Their run of poor form is slightly misleading however, as they’ve faced five of the top seven in their last seven fixtures.
The most recent of those was a 3-1 loss to third place, Leeds United. Swansea took the lead in the first minute, but quality eventually prevailed.
Huddersfield
It is quite clear that the Terriers have struggled at both ends of the field all season, conceding the joint third most goals (30) and scoring the joint third least (17). This has put Darren Moore’s side in 21st place, with a point tally of 19 points.
Last time out, Huddersfield claimed a vital three points as they beat Sunderland on the road. The visitors only had 27% possession, but with a slice of luck and resilient defending, they picked up the victory. This was Darren Moore’s first away win at the helm.
Verdict?
Last season, this fixture saw very little action and two extremely close affairs, that is expected once again this year. The recent win for Huddersfield will have boosted morale in camp and given the side belief.
The final prediction is Swansea 1-1 Huddersfield.
