Watford vs. Bristol City Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Watford vs. Bristol City prediction, we're going for a 2-2 draw.

Watford look to keep their faint play-off hopes alive as they face Bristol City in the Championship this weekend.

Watford currently sit 12th in the Championship with fourteen wins, fourteen draws and thirteen losses from forty-one games this season.

The Hornets have had a bitterly disappointing season after failing to come anywhere close to the pre-season projections of title contenders that most people pinned on them.

As such they've spent the majority of the season in mid-table, attempting to claw their way into the top six to no avail.

They enter this game woefully out of form too having failed to win any of their last four matches, drawing two and losing two of them.

Their most recent game saw them share the spoils with Coventry City in a 2-2 draw, a result that ended up a deflating one given they were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Watford are now on their third manager of the season and results have been unaffected by the man sitting in the dugout. There's clearly a deeper issue at hand and one that may take some time to resolve.

Their form at home reads more positively having won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five matches on home soil, but having lost their most recent home game to Huddersfield Town there's still a lot of doubt about their resolve at home.

Watford are six points shy of the play-off spots with five games remaining and face a tough task trying to break the top six. It's not impossible but the odds are stacked against them; they desperately need to take three points from this one.

Bristol City currently sit 13th in the Championship with thirteen wins, fourteen draws and fourteen losses from forty-one games this season.

The Robins have had an up and down season in terms of form but the overall feeling will be one of disappointment as they drift towards a mid-table finish.

Nigel Pearson's side started the campaign excellently and looked every bit a play-off contender, but having tailed off abruptly they've since spent the campaign fluctuation between posing as a poor team and a good team without nailing down any consistency.

They enter this game in solid form having won one and drawn two of their last three games, the most recent of which was a 2-2 draw against play-off contenders Middlesbrough.

Bristol City have nothing to play for this season but they're clearly not letting that affect their motivation as they look to end the season on a high note. As far as this game is concerned it's a more than winnable fixture for The Robins.
