Watford vs. Huddersfield Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Watford vs. Huddersfield prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

The great escape continues for Huddersfield Town on Friday as they take on Watford in the Championship at Vicarage Road.

Watford currently sit 11th in the Championship with fourteen wins, thirteen draws and twelve losses from thirty-nine games this season.

The Hornets have had an incredibly underwhelming campaign this time around having failed to come anywhere close to the pre-season expectations that had them pinned as one of the main title contenders.

Instead, they've spent the majority of the season in mid-table attempting to break into the play-off spots, and despite changing manager twice they still don't look like mounting a serious play-off push as they enter this game having won just one of their last six matches.

Most recently Watford were beaten 2-0 away at Luton Town, a side contesting for the play-offs.

Their home form is slightly more encouraging having won two and drawn three of their last five matches on home soil, so they'll have to hope they can use that to score a big three points here.

Watford are six points outside of the play-off spots with seven games to go so a top six finish is not looking likely at the minute. Based on league position they should take six points here, but it could be a potential banana skin given Huddersfield's form.

Huddersfield Town currently sit 22nd in the Championship with ten wins, nine draws and twenty-losses from thirty-nine games this season.

The Terriers have had a miserable campaign not he whole having followed up on a play-off final last season with a relegation battle this time out, but some positive results in recent weeks have injected the club with a huge dose of optimism entering this final stretch of the campaign.

They're coming into this game have won two and drawn one of their last three matches, with all three results coming against promotion contenders.

Having drawn 1-1 with Norwich City before beating Millwall 1-0, Huddersfield battered 3rd place and in form Middlesbrough 4-2 on Saturday in what was by far their best result and performance of the season.

It looks, then, like The Terriers might just be hitting form at the perfect time as they attempt to claw their way out of the relegation zone.

They were beaten 0-2 by Watford when the two sides met back in December but respective form of the two sides has flipped, and given The Hornets' struggles Huddersfield should fancy themselves to get something here.

        Watford Team News

Watford have no fresh injury worried for this game with Chris Wilder weighing up how many changes to make to an XI that lost 2-0 to Luton last time out.

Ismaila Sarr should return to the starting XI here with Watford in need of a win.

        Huddersfield Team News

Duane Holmes will miss out here after coming off against Middlesbrough with injury, with Ben Jackson likely to keep his place on the left.

The Terriers will almost certainly keep the rest of the XI the same after an excellent win last time out.
