The Hornets host Millwall on Saturday at Vicarage Road, in what looks set to be a closely contested affair. The two clubs are on identical points, but the visitors did the double over Watford last season.
Watford
Despite having a rather poor start to the Championship campaign, Valerien Ismael has been able to turn Watford's fortunes around in the last two game weeks. The Hornets sit in 15th after 13 games, with a record of four wins, four draws and five defeats. They have been solid defensively but their overall attacking threat has been quite minimal, scoring 1.23 goals per game. Watford are yet to win a game this season which they have conceded in.
The Hornets won 1-0 last time out for the second time in a matter of days, as they defeated Swansea on the road. This was a huge result for Ismael's men and they constructed the perfect counter attacking game plan. Watford limited their opponent for the entire game and stung them with ten minutes to go via substitute Ken Sema.
Millwall
The Millwall faithful will be disappointed with how their side has started the campaign and caretaker boss, Adam Barret, is yet to win a game after two attempts. The Lions biggest issue has been in front of goal and much like last season, they turn to Zian Flemming for answers. They have the joint third worst goal scoring record in the Championship and the fans are demanding that the handbrake is took off. Millwall have conceded 16 goals in 13 matches and just like Watford, they have not won a game that they've conceded in.
This week they suffered a 2-1 home loss to Blackburn Rovers and Barret admitted that there was frustration in the dressing room post match. Millwall took a very early lead but by the 51st minute, they were 2-1 down. Despite applying pressure for the rest of the match, the Lions were unable to convert their chances.
Verdict?
The Lions are unbeaten in their last four away games and given the fact Watford struggle in front of goal, this game screams a draw. They are both unconvincing in the final third, but stable at the back.
The final prediction is Watford 1-1 Millwall.
