For our Watford vs. Wigan prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.
Watford's Championship play-off push continues at Vicarage Road this weekend as they face Wigan Athletic.
Watford currently sit 10th in the Championship with fourteen wins, twelve draws and eleven losses from thirty-seven games this season.
The Hornets have had a largely underwhelming campaign this time around with many expecting them to contend for automatic promotion. Instead, they've spent the majority of it lingering around mid-table trying to string a run of wins together to climb into the top six.
Now on their third manager of the season, Watford enter this game amidst a mixed run of form having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches.
Most recently, Watford surged to a convincing 3-0 win over struggling Birmingham City.
Watford's home form is still fairly strong as they're unbeaten in their last six on home soil, winning three and drawing three of those.
Watford are six points shy of the play-offs with nine games to go so there's still plenty to play for. Given the inconsistency of the play-off challengers it's going to be tough to predict, but this game should be fairly straightforward for the home side.
Wigan Athletic currently sit rock bottom of the Championship with seven wins, twelve draws and eighteen losses from thirty-seven games this season.
The Latics have had a dismal campaign back in the Championship following promotion from League One last time out and look well on course for an immediate relegation back to England's third tier.
They enter this game midst a typically poor run of form having failed to win any of their last seven matches, drawing two and losing three of their last five.
Away from home their form is no better with Shaun Maloney's side failing to win any of their last five one the road while losing their last three on the bounce.
Wigan were beaten 0-1 by Watford back in August and their chances of an improved fate here are slim given their awful form.
The Latics six points shy of safety so all is not lost, but it's hard to see where any wins are going to come from and if they don't then they can kiss goodbye to the Championship.
