Ipswich Town will head to The Hawthorns this weekend to meet with West Bromwich Albion after putting together a 12-game unbeaten run in the Championship with the club eyeing up top spot in the league.
The 12 games since a loss to Leeds United at the end of August puts the Tractor Boys with the best unbeaten run of form in the Championship right now, keeping them ahead of the table toppers Leicester City in this regard. They are also level on points with the Foxes in first and continue to be the best attacking side in the Championship with 36 scored from 16 games and 12 wins.
Ipswich have also managed to beat Reading and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Cup this season, but a loss to Fulham in that competition at the start of the month keeps them with only one win in November. They managed to get past Swansea City before the international break with goals from Jack Taylor, Conor Chaplin and George Hirst.
However, with draws by a 2-2 scoreline against Birmingham City and Rotherham United in November mean their only win this month is that win over Swansea last time out.
Further wins over Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle in the past month do, however, keep them 13 points above West Brom in seventh, and even a loss to them this weekend gives them more than breathing space within the promotion spots. Better yet, they are eight points clear of second place and the only side that have beaten them in the Championship this season, Leeds.
As for West Brom, they are sitting in seventh and only adrift of the playoff spots by goals difference. The Baggies did lose to Southampton before the international break, where Kyle Bartley scored in the second half of a 2-1 loss.
Given the international break, the only other game this month has seen West Brom beat Hull City, although they did win at Coventry City before that and also defeat Queens Park Rangers back at home too. West Brom have been excellent at home this season, but with Ipswich's excellent goalscoring form and unbeaten run, this game could go either way. However, do expect Ipswich to get at least a goal.
