A massive game does down in the Championship on Saturday as West Bromwich Albion play hosts to Leicester City at the Hawthorns with the Baggies up into fifth after a solid run of form as the Foxes cling onto first.
Although Leicester are still the clear favourites to win the Championship and certainly the highest in the odds list in terms of promotion back to the Premier League, they have fumbled a bit on recent weeks. In fact, the club head to the Hawthorns with just two wins in the past five games and they have seen Ipswich Town close the gap to just one point on them in first place.
Nevertheless, despite yet another loss to Leeds United within this run, Leicester are still ahead of them in the table by eight points, meaning it would have be a bit of a disastrous run from now until Christmas to see them loss top spot before 2024 comes around.
The Foxes were held to a draw with Sheffield Wednesday last time out, and given how that was last place taking on the table toppers, Leicester should have secured a win in that match. They did, however, win at home to Watford before that, as Jamie Vardy got his fifth and sixth goals of the season with two late finishes.
Leicester did also suffer defeats to Leeds and Middlesbrough throughout November too, beating Queens Park Rangers, Sunderland, Preston North End, Stoke City, Swansea City, Blackburn Rovers, Norwich City, Bristol City and Southampton all in a row throughout September and October beforehand.
As for West Brom, another poor start to the season has been turned around lately with them moving into the playoff spots just before Christmas with a victory over Cardiff City last time out and a sensational win against Ipswich Town before that - this was just the second loss of the season for the Tractor Boys.
The Baggies have now put together nine wins and four losses from 18 games in the Championship and sit adrift of Leeds in third by only two points, while they have a healthy four-point gap on Blackburn just outside the playoff spots.
