Crystal Palace are 90 minutes away from a coveted first European final in their history, as the Eagles will look to record a professional performance against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Oliver Glasner's side picked up a comfortable 3-1 win away from home in the first leg, spearheaded by an early goal from Ismaila Sarr within a minute of the game starting. Further goals from Daichi Kamada and Jørgen Strand Larsen gave the Eagles the commanding lead they needed heading into the second leg. Oliver Glasner fielded a rotated side in their subsequent 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth at the weekend, so the likes of Sarr, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Adam Wharton are expected to come back into the side, as the three of them were only used sporadically on the south coast. The Eagles have been impressive at home, with no defeats at Selhurst Park since the unexpected 3-2 home defeat to relegated Burnley.
As for Shakhtar Donetsk, the visitors have won four of their previous five matches, but all four wins have come against opposition inferior to what Palace face every week. The step-up in competition in the first leg was evident, as, despite having the larger share of the ball, they found themselves exposed on the counter, with Ismaila Sarr particularly punishing the Ukrainian side. Sarr is the joint-top scorer in this season's UEFA Conference League with eight goals and has scored five goals in his last four appearances in Europe.
All signs point towards a Palace victory here. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in six of the last seven matches involving the Eagles and in eight of the last nine involving the visitors, so it would not surprise to see the scoreline from the first leg here.
Crystal Palace 3-1 Shakhtar Donetsk
