It's arguably the biggest game of the season for both Wycombe Wanderers and Barnsley this weekend with the two battling it out for a commanding spot in the playoffs in 2022/23 with the Tykes up into fourth.
Barnsley have a comfortable position in the playoff spots over the likes of Derby County and Bolton Wanderers, as they have two games in hand over the Rams and three over Bolton in sixth. At the same time, with just 29 goals let in, the club come into this game with the second-best defensive record in the league - only Sheffield Wednesday have let in fewer goals.
Barnsley are in their best run of form this season, despite hitting a five-game winning run throughout December. Now, they come into this one having registered just one draw in the past six weeks with a 0-0 game against Bristol Rovers. In this unbeaten run that stretches back to the middle of January, Barnsley have stunningly scored 24 goals in 10 games and let in only six as well.
Plymouth Argyle fell to a 3-0 defeat last weekend, as Barnsley put on record their best win of the season. Michael Duff also went on to score three against Portsmouth in a 3-1 win, while smashing Derby County in an incredible 4-1, as they did the same over Cheltenham away from home.
Wycombe head into this one in seventh, as they also lost 2-0 to Burton Albion over the weekend with them also playing against 10 men for most of the game. Wycombe have only managed to beat Fleetwood Town since the departure of Gareth Ainsworth, and it means a poor run of form for them under Matt Bloomfield so far.
