Aston Villa look to continue their charge towards European ambitions as they host a Brighton side who will be low on confidence following their derby defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
The Villains' league form has been mixed, as the home side has won only twice in their last six Premier League matches. Two of their defeats have come at home; however, their home record at Villa Park remains strong. The home side has won eight of their last 10 league matches at home, and this season, the Villains have averaged 2.08 points per game and accumulated 1.62 goals per game. Morgan Rogers will no doubt be the difference maker in this fixture, as the England midfielder has provided 13 goal contributions in the Premier League this season, scoring last time out against AFC Bournemouth.
Brighton & Hove Albion are firmly in the bottom mid-half of the Premier League this season, but will have to be wary that results could drag them into an unlikely relegation battle with West Ham United, in particular, making ground on the teams above. The Seagulls are now without a win in their last four matches, following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace on Sunday. Their record at Villa Park is hardly notable either, with the visitors having not beaten the Villains since 2020, going three league meetings without a win on their visits to the ground.
Unai Emery's side will want to bounce back from two games without a win in the league, and a visit from an out-of-sorts Brighton side is the perfect way to bounce back.
Aston Villa 2-0 Brighton.
