Bournemouth and Sunderland meet at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday after both sides secured victory in Europe on Thursday.
The Cherries secured a comfortable home win over Sturm Graz, 3-0, and the Black Cats avoided a scare with a 2-1 late win over second-division Portuguese side Torrense. The two teams are separated by only a single point in the league standings, with the Cherries yet to achieve a league win under Marco Rose.
The added travel for Sunderland could play a factor in this fixture, as Bournemouth were awarded a home tie against Sturm Graz in midweek. The home side are in pretty decent form across all competitions, having won three of their last six matches in all competitions, and they have lost only once at home in the Premier League in their last 10 games, but eight of those have been draws, with two draws already at the Vitality Stadium.
As for the Black Cats, they did leave it late against Torrense, and their league form is a huge indication of where they are in the league currently. Regis Le Bris has seen his team lose their previous three league matches against Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester City and Arsenal. Away from home, the Black Cats have won only once in their last five league games and last season the game at the Vitality Stadium resulted in a 1-1 draw.
Over 2.5 goals have landed in six of the last seven games involving Bournemouth and with the Black Cats conceding in four of the last five games, this game shouldn't be goalless.
Bournemouth 2-2 Sunderland
