Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leicester City Prediction

Brighton & Hove Albion are heavy favourites coming into their home clash with Leicester City on Saturday.

The Seagulls are ninth in the Premier League with 47 points from 31 matches, while the Foxes look all but relegated as they are 15 points adrift of 17th-place Wolverhampton Wanderers with just seven matches to go, having accumulated just 17 points from the same number of games.

On top of this, Leicester’s away record is dismal, as they have accumulated just eight points from 15 matches away from the King Power Stadium this campaign, scoring just 14 times while leaking 37 goals.

We expect Brighton to win comfortably here due to the fact that they come up against a Leicester side that have won just three of 20 games under Ruud van Nistelrooy, while failing to score in their last seven league matches.

Prediction: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 Leicester City

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Leicester City Prediction & Preview

On Saturday, 12th April, ninth-place Brighton & Hove Albion hosts 19th-place Leicester City at the Amex Stadium in what is expected to be a one-sided clash in the Premier League.

Date: 12/04/2025

Location: Amex Stadium

Time: 3pm

When these two sides met back on 8th December, Leicester City snatched a dramatic point, as the Seagulls had initially taken a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Tariq Lamptey and Yankuba Minteh, before 86th and 91st minute strikes from Jamie Vardy and Bobby De Cordova-Reid earned the Foxes an unexpected point.

Brighton’s season is much brighter than their opponents, as the Seagulls have enjoyed a solid campaign under Fabian Hürzeler, having accumulated 47 points from 31 matches, winning 12, drawing 11 and losing eight, seeing them sit just four points behind the likes of Aston Villa in seventh-place, meaning, that a good run of results could see them qualify for European football.

The Seagulls sole focus is on their league campaign, as they suffered a disappointing FA Cup quarter-final exit to Nottingham Forest, despite knocking out the likes of Newcastle United (2-1), Chelsea (2-1) and Norwich City (4-0) in previous rounds.

Leicester City’s season has been incredibly turbulent, with there being plenty of fan unrest at the club.

Steve Cooper was initially in charge of the Foxes and in hindsight, wasn’t doing a bad job despite his record of just two wins in 12 while at the King Power Stadium, as at the time of his departure, Leicester were one point above the relegation zone, a position which they could only dream of at present.

Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge on 29th November and won his first game in charge of the club at home to West Ham on 3rd December via a 3-1 scoreline, but, has failed to make any form of positive impact since, as the Foxes have won just two of their last 19 under the Dutchman, seeing his win percentage lie at 15%.

Where to Watch

Brighton & Hove Albion versus Leicester City will not be shown live on UK TV due to the 3pm blackout laws.

Team News

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton will be without the likes of Jan Paul van Hecke (suspended), Igor, Ferdi Kadioglu, Tariq Lamptey, Joel Veltman, Adam Webster and Georginio Rutter for their home clash with Leicester.

Leicester City

Issahaku Fatawu is Leicester’s only injury doubt for their trip to Brighton. It remains to be seen if Harry Winks will be recalled to the Foxes squad, having been axed for their trip to Manchester City following a fall-out with van Nistelrooy.

Form Guide

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton enter this game off the back of three defeats in a row, having suffered losses to Crystal Palace (2-1) and Aston Villa (3-0) after being beaten by Nottingham Forest on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Prior to those matches, Brighton earned a 2-2 draw at Manchester City as a free kick from Pervis Estupinan and an own goal by Abdukodir Khusanov earned them a memorable point.

The Seagulls last victory came at home to Fulham (2-1) on 8th March, as Joao Pedro fired in a 98th-minute penalty to earn the Seagulls all three points.

Leicester City

Leicester City have suffered five defeats from their last five matches.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men were beaten 3-0 by Newcastle United on Monday night as Jacob Murphy fired in a brace while Harvey Barnes also got on the scoresheet for the Magpies.

The Foxes had suffered further losses to Manchester City (2-0), Manchester United (3-0), Chelsea (1-0) and West Ham United (2-0) in the run-up to their defeat to Newcastle.
