Arsenal are looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table as they take on Burnley this weekend.
- Date: 01/11/2025
- Kick-off: 3:00pm
- Location: Turf Moor, Burnley
The hosts are currently 16th in the Premier League with ten points from nine games. It's been a fine start to the season for the Clarets who have so far surpassed expectations under Scott Parker. Many gave Burnley few hopes of survival coming into the season, but they've looked very competitive throughout the campaign and even if they do go down come May, it won't be without a whimper.
The Clarets come into this game with two wins and three losses from their last five games, with both of their wins coming against fellow relegation contenders in Leeds and Wolves. Under 2.5 goals have been scored in all of Burnley's home games in the league this season, and that feels like it'll be a theme that runs into this game, with Parker's men likely to deploy an extremely defensive game plan to frustrate Mikel Arteta's side.
Arsenal are flying high at the top of the Premier League with 22 points from nine games. The Gunners are the firm favourites for the Premier League title this season and despite coming under much criticism for their "boring" style of play, which is grounded in some truth, they're the team that appears to have the fewest flaws.
The Gunners are unbeaten in 11 games and have won their last eight on the bounce, so they enter this game with momentum very much on their side. Like Burnley, many of their games aren't particularly filled with goals, with five of their last six outings seeing over 2.5 goals scored. It's unlikely that this will be a barnstormer from an entertainment perspective, but Arsenal have now kept six clean sheets in a row, marking an excellent defensive record that they'll firmly expect to extend on Saturday afternoon.
Top scorer Viktor Gyokeres has two goals in his last two games for the Gunners, so he'll fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet in what should be a somewhat comfortable win for the North London club.
Burnley 0-2 Arsenal
