Chelsea vs Liverpool Prediction

Liverpool and Chelsea lock horns in the Premier League this weekend at a time where both sides are in great need of a win.

Liverpool don't have the best recent record at Stamford Bridge, with the Reds winless in their last four trips to Chelsea. Last season, Chelsea ran out 3-1 winners in the game at the Bridge, while all of the previous three ended in draws.

Arne Slot's side have conceded an average of 1.22 goals per game in all competitions this season and have shown major vulnerabilities at the back. Similarly, Chelsea have conceded 1.11 goals per game in all competitions and have issues of their own defensively.

Going forward, Liverpool have scored 1.89 goals per game in all competitions while Chelsea have scored 1.67, so both teams pack a strong punch in that regard. It should lead to an entertaining game, and it's fair to expect a few goals.

Both of these sides have won two and lost two of their last four games and both are currently under major scrutiny from fans and pundits for their performances. Given both have similar strengths and weaknesses, it doesn't feel like there's much separating the teams, so we think a high-scoring draw is the most likely outcome.

Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool

Chelsea vs Liverpool Preview & Prediction

Chelsea are coming into this game in an interesting position. The Blues have lost three of their last five games and being increasingly scrutinised for coming up short of expectations. Despite how much money has been spent on the squad, Chelsea still look light years away from being a Premier League title contender and it's hard not to ask serious questions.

  • Date: 04/10/2025
  • Kick-off: 5:30pm
  • Location: Stamford Bridge, West London

It still feels as though fans haven't fully taken to Enzo Maresca and his football, which many find toothless and possession-obsessed at times. It may feel trivial, but fans still haven't developed a chant for the Italian manager, and he had to stand on the touchlines listening to his own fans sing the name of Jose Mourinho, who stood in the Benfica dugout.

Chelsea are struggling with injuries but they haven't been particularly convincing all season. They're not an easy team to beat and almost always hold their own against whoever they play, but there's plenty of cause for concern as far as the rest of the season goes.

Likewise, Liverpool have been far from convincing all season either. The Reds have picked up plenty of wins, but they've done so often through last-minute winners, many off the back of below-par showings.

Liverpool spent plenty of money in the summer, but Florian Wirtz has yet to fully settle into the team and the league, while Alexander Isak is yet to get going either. Hugo Ekitike has been the one bright spot, and he'll likely start up top here.

The Reds are coming off the back of an extremely disjointed performance away at Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek, where they lost 1-0, which many would argue is the culmination of many dishevelled showings. The Reds have enough individual quality to bail themselves out of poor collective performances, but the results look as though they're starting to catch up with them now.
