Everton take on Coventry City just before the international break, with both of these respective sides fresh from a victory in the gameweek just gone.
The Toffees have been going steady this season, as the home side sit seventh in the Premier League standings after nine matches played. Everton's record this season reads as three wins, four draws and two losses but with 13 points on the board, Everton are ahead of the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Manchester United. David Moyes has seen his side win their last two games in all competitions following a league and cup double over Newcastle United.
At home is where Everton have collected the majority of their points this season (7) and their only defeat on home soil this season was against Xabi Alonso's Chelsea. Everton's other league defeat this season also needs context, as the Toffees fell 2-0 to Premier League champions Arsenal.
We don't expect a huge amount of goals in this fixture, as Everton have only scored four goals in their last five league matches, but squad quality should push Everton through against Coventry City.
As for the Sky Blues, they are heading into this game with three wins in their previous five league games, but two of those wins have come at home. On the road, Coventry City have lost three of their four away trips, with the only win taking place against Nottingham Forest. The issue for Coventry City has been their inability to keep a clean sheet, with no clean sheets in four.
Coventry City have at least been competitive in all of their games this season, but a trip to an Everton side looking up the league table could be a tall order for Frank Lampard's side.
Everton 2-0 Coventry City.
