Fulham vs Man United Prediction

Manchester United have found league form inconsistent under Ruben Amorim, and we believe that could be their undoing against Fulham at the weekend. Fulham are unbeaten in their last five home matches and have only lost once in their previous five Premier League matches.

The Red Devils have lost four of their previous six Premier League matches and have only won once away from home in their last five league matches. Expect goals in this fixture, as both teams have scored in five of the last six involving Fulham and the last five involving Manchester United, with the visitors failing to keep a clean sheet in their previous 13 matches in all competitions – Fulham 2-1 Manchester United

Fulham vs Man United: Preview & Prediction

Fulham host Manchester United in the Premier League looking to make it two wins in a row and close the gap on the European places.

Date: 26/01/25

Kick-off time: 19:00

Venue: Craven Cottage

It has been a solid season for Fulham, which continued last time out with victory over Leicester City. The win keeps them 10th in the table, with eyes on the teams ahead of them rather than behind. With 33 points, they are five clear of Brentford who sit once place below them, but are just four off Bournemouth in seventh. The hosts have hit a rough patch of late with just one win in four, but they will be confident in getting back on track at home.

This is because they face a Man United side who are desperate for three points to give them some momentum going forward. Ruben Amorim’s side are seven points behind their upcoming opponents, and have won just once in the league since the middle of December. They have lost four of the last six, which has left them stranded in the bottom half of the table in 13th place. Another defeat could see them sink even lower, with just two points separating themselves and Tottenham in 15th.

Goals should be a feature in this one, particularly with the vulnerable defence of the visitors. Fulham will hope that the crowd can give them an advantage to unsettle them even further. United have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 13 games in all competitions, which does not bode well against a Fulham side who have scored at least twice in each of their last six.

Raul Jimenez leads the way for Marco Silva’s men with eight league goals, though is scoreless in the last two. Emile Smith Rowe found the back of the net last weekend, and will be a key threat from midfield once more.

At the other end, Man United could turn to Joshua Zirkzee, who has started their last two games up top. It has been a tough debut season for the youngster, but he has netted three times so far. However, the biggest threat may come from Amad Diallo, who tops the club’s league scoring charts with six goals, including a game-winning hat-trick in their last win against Southampton. Fulham have kept just one clean sheet in six, so both teams will fancy their chances at getting on the scoresheet.

These two sides have met nine times in the Premier League since 2018. It is a fixture that has been heavily dominated by Man United in this stretch with seven wins to Fulham’s one and a draw. United have won four of the last five meetings, and each of the last seven at Craven Cottage dating back to 2011. Fulham’s last win came last season at Old Trafford as they beat the hosts 2-1. The reverse fixture on the opening weekend of this season finished 1-0 in the favour of the Red Devils. Zirkzee scored a late winning goal.

Where to Watch

Fulham vs Manchester United will be available to watch on TNT Sports 1.

Team News

Fulham

Marco Silva should have a mostly fully fit squad to choose from this weekend. Kenny Tete is the only long-term absentee, while Reiss Nelson will also miss out with a thigh injury. However, he is nearing a return for the beginning of next month.

Manchester United

Manchester United should have no new injury concerns to contend with. Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof are nearing returns but this weekend comes too soon. Jonny Evans and Mason Mount are long-term absentees. There are a few players linked with moves away, with Marcus Rashford and Antony unlikely to be involved. The future of Alejandro Garnacho is also unclear.

Form Guide

Fulham:

In their last five games, Fulham have won two, drawn two and lost one. It has been a solid stretch for Fulham as they look to climb the table. The first game of this run was a 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth. Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson gave the hosts the lead twice, but they were pegged back twice, including in the 89th minute by Dango Ouattara.

They picked up another point at home with the same scoreline against Ipswich. This time they fell behind twice, but responded on both occasions from the penalty spot, with Jimenez netting a 91st minute leveller. FA Cup action followed, and they advanced to the fourth round with a comfortable 4-1 win over Watford. Rodrigo Muniz, Jimenez, Joachim Andersen and Timothy Castagne were all on the scoresheet.

Fulham’s only defeat of this run was a 3-2 loss at West Ham. Quick-fire goals from Carlos Soler and Thomas Soucek gave the Hammers a 2-0 lead. Alex Iwobi pulled one back before another West Ham goal extended the lead. Iwobi scored a second but they were unable to complete the comeback. Last time out, they beat Leicester 2-0 on the road. Emile Smith Rowe and Adama Traore were the goalscorers.

Manchester United:

In their last five games, Man United have won two, drawn two and lost one. It has been an underwhelming stretch for United, though they picked up a win in the Europa League against Rangers. It came late as Bruno Fernandes netted the winner after Cyriel Dessers cancelled out a Jack Butland own goal.

However, their poor league form continued with a 3-1 loss against Brighton. A Bruno Fernandes penalty cancelled out a Yankuba Minteh opener, before second half strikes from Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter condemned them to defeat. Despite falling behind before the break, they were 3-1 winners against Southampton, with a late Amad Diallo hat-trick saving them from embarrassment.

This followed a 1-1 draw at Arsenal in the FA Cup third round, a tie which they won 5-3 on penalties. They took the lead through Fernandes, but the Gunners responded shortly after the Red Devils were reduced to 10 men. United were able to hang on through extra-time for the shootout. A huge result at Anfield saw United pick up a point in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool. Both sides took a lead before Amad equalised with 10 minutes to go.
