Liverpool vs Arsenal Prediction

Liverpool versus Arsenal would appear to be a close game on paper, and if there were stakes involved, then most certainly this game would be even more challenging to call. However, given the lack of confidence Arsenal have this season, expect this to be a fairly routine victory for the Premier League Champions.

Liverpool have an excellent home record in the Premier League, only losing once in 17 home matches, accumulating 44 points. The rampant Reds have won three of their previous five league games and their last five consecutive league matches at Anfield.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners are now winless in their previous four matches in all competitions, having lost their last three consecutive games. Mikel Arteta’s side also hold an unwanted record on not recording a victory at Anfield in the Premier League since September 2012.

Games involving these two sides have generally provided goals, with both teams scoring in six of the last seven matches. Liverpool will be in full momentum, and with an Arsenal side stuttering towards the final stages of the season, we are predicting a 3-1 victory for the League Champions.

Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal

Liverpool vs Arsenal Preview & Prediction

Premier League Champions, Liverpool, welcome an Arsenal side who saw their European journey end in midweek. Arsenal are expected to give the Champions a ceremonial guard of honour at Anfield.

Date: 11/05/2025
Location: Anfield, Liverpool.
Kick-Off: 4.30 pm

Liverpool have been the deserved Premier League champions this season, as manager Arne Slot joins an exclusive list of managers having won the Premier League in their debut campaign. The former Feyenoord manager is now alongside Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Manuel Pellegrini and Antonio Conte in that category. The rampant Reds have secured the league title, having four games to spare at the time, with their excellent 5-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Consistency has been the key for Arne Slot’s side, with the home side having accumulated an impressive 82 points from 35 matches this season and are 15 points clear of Arsenal heading into this game. Liverpool have scored 81 goals this season and only conceded 35, winning 25 of their 35 matches in the Premier League. The performances of Mohamed Salah have been a huge boost to Liverpool’s emphatic campaign. The Egyptian forward has produced 46 goal contributions (28 goals, 18 assists) and is only three assists away from eclipsing the record for the single amount of assists in a Premier League season, currently held by Kevin de Bruyne and Thierry Henry.

Mikel Arteta’s side have underperformed in all aspects of the season. Ten-man Manchester United beat his Arsenal side in the FA Cup Third Round, and Newcastle United eliminated them in the Carabao Cup semi-finals. With the results this week, their European dream ended at the hands of PSG. Arteta will now go five seasons without silverware since his FA Cup triumph in 2020.

In the Premier League, the Gunners have faltered in their attempt to overcome Liverpool in the title race. The last two seasons have seen Arsenal post 80+ point tallies in consecutive campaigns. However, this season, the away side can only achieve a maximum of 76 points. The Achilles heel for Arsenal has been their draws in league matches. Arsenal this season has dropped 21 points from winning positions and have recorded 13 draws in the campaign.

Where to watch

The game will be available to watch on NOW TV, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.

Form Guide

Liverpool:

Liverpool are coming into this game having won three of their previous five league matches, following their 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in which Arne Slot rested several key players. The Reds have achieved victories against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur (5-1), West Ham United (2-1) and Leicester City (1-0) - thanks to a goal from the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will be joining Real Madrid.

Liverpool have a phenomenal record at Anfield in the Premier League, with no losses since the early-season defeat to Nottingham Forest. The Reds have won their last seven games in the league at Anfield, including wins against Newcastle United (2-0) and Everton (1-0).

Arsenal:

Arsenal can simply not buy a win at the moment, with Mikel Arteta’s side failing to record a win in their previous four games and having lost their last three. Arsenal suffered a defeat against PSG (2-1) in midweek, and previously they had lost to Bournemouth (1-2) and the first-leg loss to PSG (0-1). The Gunners last recorded a win in the Premier League against Ipswich Town (0-4).

In the Premier League, the visitors have only won once in their last five league matches, with further draws against Crystal Palace (2-2), Brentford (1-1) and Everton (1-1).
