Manchester City are hoping to maintain their 100% record in the Premier League as they take on Coventry City this weekend.
Man City have secured two wins from their opening two games. A hard-fought 2-1 win over Bournemouth on the opening weekend was followed by a thumping 4-1 win over Crystal Palace last time out.
Braces from both Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki secured a deserved three points, giving Enzo Maresca an excellent foundation on which to build in the coming weeks.
City have had a busy transfer deadline day, completing deals for Iliman Ndiaye and Enzo Fernandez. It's not yet clear exactly how those players will fit into Maresca's plans, but they're useful bodies to have in the squad.
City have lost only one of their last 21 domestic home games - which was a dead rubber against Aston Villa on the final day of last season - so it's highly unlikely we'll see anything but three points in their favour here.
Coventry City have it all to do after losing their first two games of the season. A 3-0 defeat to Arsenal on the opening night was expected, but a 0-1 loss at home to fellow newly promoted side Hull City was a major blow for the Sky Blues - even this early in the campaign.
Hull at home would have been earmarked by Frank Lampard and his staff as the most likely source of three points in the league calendar, so they know they'll now have to make those points up elsewhere, which will be far more difficult.
In all likelihood, Coventry will take a fair beating here and will end the weekend with three defeats from three. It's by no means irrecoverable, but Lampard and co need to start picking up points before the negativity starts to set in or an uphill battle will become a mountain to climb.
