Liverpool's push for a top five finish takes another turn this week as they take on the Premier League's bottom-placed team, Wolves.
Wolves are rooted to the foot of the table and are heading right for the Championship. They're determined to salvage some pride before their relegation is confirmed, though, and have improved somewhat since Rob Edwards took charge. They conjured up a 2-0 win over Midlands rivals Aston Villa at the weekend, marking what was the standout moment of the season.
The win means they now have two wins in their last ten, but only one in their last nine, so their form still reads discouragingly. Only three of their last ten games in the league have seen BTTS occur, while only three have seen over 2.5 goals scored in that period too.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have six wins in their last seven and seven wins in their last ten. The Reds have steadied the ship following a crisis period around Christmas time, and while their title defence will ultimately prove disappointing, they should still secure Champions League football for next season.
Liverpool have kept clean sheets in three of their last four games, and their recent head-to-head record against Wolves is extremely encouraging, with the Reds winning all of the last six meetings between the two sides. Arne Slot's team will not be complacent, but they should win this one pretty comfortably and will hope to pull further clear of Chelsea in 6th.
Wolves 0-2 Liverpool
