The Europa Conference League takes place this Thursday evening as Sporting Braga plays hosts to Fiorentina in Portugal with the home side up into third in the Primeira Liga as Fiorentina head to the Braga Municipal stadium.
It's been a memorable season for Braga so far. Artur Jorge's men have managed to break the usual unbreakable top three in Portugal this season with them sitting in third and behind Porto in second by just two points and Benfica in first by seven points. The club head into this one having won 15 games and drawn only once, with four defeats on the board. At the same time, Braga have let in 20 goals and scored 45 of their own.
Last time out, the club managed to defeat Maritimo 2-1 away from home just a few days on from edging past Benfica in the Taca de Portugal quarter-finals on penalties. It marked the first win over one of the Big Three in Portugal, as the club placed in third right now were battered by Sporting Lisbon 5-0 at the start of this month.
As for Fiorentina, they head into this one off the back of failing to win a league game since January 7th when they beat Sassuolo 2-1. The club have gone on to lose to Roma 2-0, Torino 1-0, Bologna 2-1 and Juventus 1-0, as their only positive in 2023 have been a move into the Coppa Italia semi-finals and a draw with Lazio in Rome.
