The Austrian Bundesliga giants face off with a rising outfit in Serie A as RB Salzburg welcomes Roma to the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg with the Austrian side top of the tree once more on the domestic front.
Barely a week ever passes when Salzburg at not top of the table over in Austria but they are looking equally impressive this season in contrast to the last one. The club have lost just once in the top flight this season and conceded a fantastic record of only nine goals let in. At the same time, they have drawn three times and won the other 13.
Salzburg have had a trick time of things in recent weeks, however. Incredibly this will be their fourth game of the month already when SK Sturm Graz beat them back on thr third in a quarter-finals battle in the Austrian Cup. They may have only lost on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes, but with them losing to Grazer AK, the club went on to lose two in a row for the first time this season and register their only losses on the domestic front so far. Salzburg rapidly and convincingly returned to the win column shortly after, however, beating Austria Lustenau 4-0 last Saturday.
As for Roma, they have moved down into fourth from third after a draw with Lecce now brings them level on points with AC Milan in fifth and Atalanta in third. They remain behind Inter Milan by three points, and it also means Jose Mourinho has won just one of his past four games. The former Real Madrid boss lost 2-1 to Napoli before an embarrassing loss to a side winless in Serie A, Cremonese, in the Coppa Italia, as Mourinho's men returned to the win column with a 2-0 win over Roma where Tammy Abraham netted a stunner.
Paulo Dybala scored from the penalty spot last time out for Roma in the 1-1 draw with Lecce. The Europa Conference League winners are the favourites to advance in this one and win on the night, but it's not expected to be an easy one for Mourinho's men by any means.
