Sevilla vs. Fenerbahce Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Sevilla vs. Fenerbahce prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

Europa League savants Sevilla are going for yet another crown as they face Turkish side Fenerbahce on Thursday.

Sevilla reached the Europa League last 16 by finishing 3rd in Champions League Group G, a group containing Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and FC Copenhagen before overcoming PSV Eindhoven 3-2 on aggregate in the play-off round.

The Spanish club, quite frankly, are having a dismal season as they enter this game in serious relegation trouble in La Liga as they sit in 17th place, level on points with Almeria in 18th.

Their form is very concerning heading into this game having won just one of their last five matches in all competitions while losing their last three on the bounce, the most recent of which was a startling 6-1 defeat away at Atletico Madrid.

Only on the odd occasion do Diego Simeone's side score three goals in a La Liga game, let alone six, so the manner of the defeat is extremely alarming for Sevilla who are looking more like relegation contenders as the weeks pass by.

Their home form is still fairly strong, at least, with Jorge Sampaoli's men winning four of their last five matches on home soil.

It's highly unlikely that Sevilla will win a seventh Europa League crown this season given they're nowhere near their best and, in all honesty, they'll do well to progress from this tie given it's hardly the easiest matchup they could have hoped for. Their home form should allow them to avoid defeat here but it's tough to confidently back them to win.

Fenerbahce reached the Europa League last 16 by topping Europa League Group B, a ground containing Rennes, AEK Larnaca and Dynamo Kyiv.

Fenerbahce are having a solid season domestically as they currently sit 2nd in the table, six points shy of 1st place Galatasaray.

They enter this game amidst a strong run of form, too, having won five and drawn two of their last seven matches in all competitions.

Their away record is also very encouraging entering this match having won four and drawn one of their last five games on the road.

Fenerbahce have been very impressive going forward in recent matches having scored an average of three goals per game across their last four matches.

The Turkish outfit will feel very confident heading into this match and won't be too aggrieved at having drawn the six-time champions. It'll be tough to win this game, but they're the rightful favourites for the tie overall.
