France are one of the favourites to lift the World Cup trophy next month, and Didier Deschamps' side head into their opening game against Senegal having won eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions.
Les Blues' only defeat during that 10-match run arrived in a friendly against the Ivory Coast, meaning that France went unbeaten in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup with five wins and one draw.
Senegal also went unbeaten in the qualification process, but the toughest opponent they faced were Congo DR. The Lions of Teranga picked up wins in their two March friendly against Peru and Gambia, but a defeat to the USA and a draw with Saudi Arabia followed in their pre-World Cup warm-up games.
We've seen both teams score in six of France's last seven matches, but Deschamps' team have managed to win five of those games.
The French side is packed with talent in attacking areas, and that has been shown since their 3-0 win over Azerbaijan in October. France have managed to score three or more goals in five of their last eight games in all competitions against the likes of Colombia and Ukraine.
Senegal's latest defeat against the USA saw the AFCON champions concede three goals, something they had avoided doing through the qualifiers.
France and Senegal have only met once before, and many of you will remember exactly what happened on that infamous day at the 2002 World Cup. Senegal upset the odds by beating the World Cup holders 1-0, making heroes of many of the Senegal side, who would go on to earn moves to the Premier League on the back of their success.
We're not expecting lightning to strike twice in the same place on Tuesday night, though, and have backed France to come away with a comfortable 3-1 victory.
France 3-1 Senegal
