The transfer window always seems to throw up some surprises and the big one this season has been five time ballon d'or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, leaving Real Madrid for Italian giants Juventus. Ronaldo spent 9 years in Madrid and leaves a club legend. He moves on looking for another challenge and will help Juventus try to claim their seventh straight Serie A title. The Champions League has always eluded the Old Lady and Ronaldo may be the finally piece to the puzzle they needed to crack it.
Moving for ambition has not always been the main motivation for a player to move on. Believe it or not money runs football and can persuade players to move on season after season. There are some real mercenaries out there and they've racked up a large accumulative transfer fee. Money can bring success and it definitely brings some of the best players with it. However, journeymen and mercenaries are not always the best to have at a club as they swiftly move on again.
We want to see if you can name the 50 players with the highest accumulative football transfer fees. It sounds easy but it’s a lot more difficult than you think, with 50 answers to guess. We’ve given you a pretty generous eight minutes to name as many as possible and once you’ve given it your best shot tweet us @FootyAccums and we’ll RT the best – good luck!
