The 46 game Football League season has drawn to a close which means that there’s just one thing left to be settled, the play-offs. The play-offs are unlike any other games, each clubs whole seasons come down to potentially three games and it makes for such entertaining viewing. As a neutral watching the play-offs they are magnificent but as a fan, they are excruciatingly painful, especially if you lose in the final. The heartache of seeing your teams entire season destroyed by a last minute goal at Wembley or even a penalty shootout is absolutely horrific, but on the flip side there’s no better way to see your side win that all important promotion. The play-offs are one of the highlights on the English football calendar and this years edition has a pretty stellar line up.

From the Championship we have Fulham, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Derby looking to break into the Premier League. In League One there’s surprise package Shrewsbury, Rotherham, Scunthorpe & Charlton – whilst in League Two Exeter, Notts County, Coventry and Lincoln are all thrashing it out. It’s tough to pick a winner from each division but one thing that we can expect are goals and an awful lot of drama if the regular season and previous play-off campaigns are anything to go by!With the EFL play-offs set to start this week, we’ve put together a little quiz to get you in the mood for it. We want to see how many previous play-off winners you can name from the last ten years and we’ve given you a generous seven minutes to do so. It’s a pretty tough one so anything over 75% is a pretty decent effort – so give it your best shot and tweet in your scores to us @FootyAccums to see how you compare against the rest of our followers!
