We've seen some fantastic players pull on the famous white strip for England over the years but none can match the goalscoring ability of Wayne Rooney. The former Everton and Manchester United became the Three Lions' all-time leading scorer back in 2015, with his penalty against Switzerland ensuring that he surpassed the previous record of 49 set by the great Sir Bobby Charlton. Rooney is a figure that's split opinion over the years but no one can really doubt what he's achieved when looking at his statistics - with him finishing on 53 goals in 119 caps.
Rooney's last appearance for England came back in November 2016 when he skippered the Three Lions to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Scotland at Wembley Stadium, but on Thursday evening he's set for one final cap to take him to 120. He's already the most capped outfield player in England history and it's bound to be an emotional evening for him in the capital when he takes on the United States. He plays his domestic football on the other side of the Atlantic so he'll know many of the players well - so it's a fitting farewell for an England legend.
In the build up to the clash we've put together a quiz that'll re-jig your memory on some iconic Rooney moments - we want to see if you can name EVERY nation that he's scored against during his Three Lions career. He hit the back of the net 53 times in total against 28 different nations, it's a tough one this so we're giving you a generous 7 minutes to name as many as possible. Once you've given it your best shot tweet your scores into us @FootyAccums to see how you compare with the rest of our followers - good luck!
