Ciro Immobile is likely to playing in his last European Championships this summer, unless he feels comfortable making an appearance in 2028 at 38 years old. Immobile will be captaining his first European Championships for Italy this summer.
Despite being aged 34, Immobile represents the best choice for the Italian national team for the Golden Boot. The veteran striker has been a club legend at Lazio with 207 goals in 338 appearances since his arrival from Torino in 2016.
Immobile this season has 12 goal contributions in 41 appearances for Lazio, who are chasing a European qualification place in Serie A. Immobile has made 57 appearances for the national side since his debut in 2014 and scored 17 goals.

Federico Chiesa was an integral part of the European Championship winning squad of 2020. The Italian forward, who is currently at Juventus, played seven times during the last tournament and scored twice as Italy were the victors for the first time since 1968.
Chiesa has provided a goal contribution once every three games for Juventus this season. The left-sided player has seven goals and three assists in 30 games in Serie A this season.
The Juventus man has been instrumental in Italy’s qualification progress for this tournament, In the eight qualifying games played, Chiesa had six goal contributions, three goals and three assists.
Giacomo Raspadori comes in at 50/1 to potentially win the Golden Boot this summer. His form this season does suggests that the odds are correct, however he could be seen as an outside chance with the potentially lack of attacking options compared to what Italy used to possess.
Raspadori is currently plying his trade at Napoli and has nine goal contributions in 44 appearances this season. Primarily used as a centre forward, Raspadori made his debut in 2021 and has made 26 appearances, scoring on six occasions.
This will potentially be Raspadori’s first international tournament and during qualification he produced two goal contributions in six appearances.
Mateo Retegui is the final name on our list of potential Golden Boot winners for Italy. The Argentine born forward was eligible to play for the Italian national side through paternal descent and made the switch in 2023, when he was selected by Roberto Mancini to feature in the qualifiers for Euro 2024.
The Genoa forward has nine goal contributions in 27 appearances this season – averaging a goal contribution in 337 of his league games this season. Since his debut in 2023, Retegui has been in fine form for the national side.
Retegui has four goals in six appearances for the national side – including two goas in three qualifying games for Spalletti’s side.
