All 20 Premier League Clubs preseason Guide

Here we have taken a look at what each Premier League team has planned for preseason ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 league season which kicks off on Friday 13th August when Brentford take on Arsenal at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Arsenal

Arsenal will kick start their preseason with two trips to Scotland, as they will take on Hibernian at Easter Road on 13th July, before going to Ibrox where they will face Rangers just four days later, with the Gers celebrating their 150th anniversary.

Following two matches in Scotland, the Gunners have plans to take part in the Florida Cup where they will face Inter Milan on 17th July, before playing either Everton or Millonarios on the 28th of that month.

Aston Villa

Brentford

Newly promoted Brentford have announced just two preseason friendlies so far ahead of their first-ever Premier League campaign, with the first one coming on 20th July against Boreham Wood at Meadow Park, before travelling up North where they will take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on 28th July.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Burnley

Chelsea

Crystal Palace

Managerless Crystal Palace have announced plans to play League Two outfits Walsall and Stevenage on 17th and 23rd July, as well as making an away trip to Ipswich Town on 27th July, before hosting London rivals Charlton Athletic at Selhurst Park on 27th July.

Everton

Everton, who are also yet to appoint a manager ahead of the upcoming season have announced that they will be joining Arsenal in a trip to America to partake in the Florida Cup. The Toffees will play Colombian side Millonarios and either Arsenal or Inter Milan on 25th and 28th July at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, before travelling back to England where they’ll face Manchester United at Goodison Park on 7th August.

Leeds United

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United will make the short trip to National League North side Guiseley on 27th July at Nethermoor Park, before going on two more away journeys to Ewood Park where they will face Blackburn Rovers on 28th July, before going to League One outfit Fleetwood Town just two days later.

Leicester City

Leicester City will kick off their preseason locally against fellow Midlands club Burton Albion on 24th July at the Pirelli Stadium, before playing Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park on 28th July, as well as making the trip to Loftus Road where they’ll face QPR just three days later.

On 7th August, Leicester will also be taking part in the season’s curtain-raiser, as they will play against Premier League champions Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley having won the FA Cup last season.

Liverpool

As yet Liverpool have released no plans for the upcoming preseason, but, there are rumours that they are set to play the likes of Tranmere, Blackpool and Blackburn away from home, as well as Rangers and Osasuna at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp is also rumoured to be waiting on what the UK’s travel restrictions are, with the German manager looking to go on a pre-season training camp in either Austria or Switzerland.

Manchester City

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City are yet to announce any major pre-season plans, as mentioned above, they’ll face Leicester City on 7th August in the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. City have one friendly scheduled for 25th August against Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy, a competition the Sky Blues last played in back in 2009, where they beat Barca 1-0 via a Martin Petrov strike.

Manchester United

Manchester United announced that they would start their season against Wayne Rooney’s Derby County on 18th July at Pride Park, before making a journey to the capital to play QPR at Loftus Road on 24th July. The Red Devils have also announced that they will take on Brentford at Old Trafford on 28th July, before finishing their pre-season at Goodison Park against Everton on 7th August.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United’s pre-season will kick off with two fixtures on 18th July, with one being a match away at York City, whilst the other will be fairly local to the initial game, as they’ll also take on Harrogate Town at Wetherby Road. The Magpies next preseason matches will take place on 27th July away at Rotherham United and on 30th July at the Pirelli Stadium versus Burton Albion.

Norwich City

Norwich City will prepare for their return to the Premier League in the upcoming season with a local friendly away at King’s Lynn Town on 16th July, before playing two fixtures at the Lotus Training Centre on 20th July against Lincoln City and 23rd July versus Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

Southampton

Tottenham Hotspur

Watford

Unlike the majority of most Premier League clubs, Watford will play the majority of their preseason matches at Vicarage Road, as they will play West Brom on 24th July there, as well as Ligue 1 side Nantes on 31st July and their owners’ other club Udinese on 7th July all at home. The Hornets only away fixture that has been announced so far is their game at the Lamex Stadium against Stevenage on 27th July.

West Ham United

West Ham United’s preseason starts and finishes relatively early due to their involvement in next season’s Europa League having finished in 6th place last time out.

David Moyes’ side will start and finish their pre-season schedule in Scotland, with trips to play Dundee and Celtic on 9th July and 24th July, with three matches away at Leyton Orient, Northampton and Reading, with the initial two matches being played on the same day, 13th July, and their trip to play Reading being penned in for 21st July.

Wolverhampton Wanderers
