Azim vs Davies and Undercard: Prediction, Preview, and Betting Odds

In what is an overall, and okay fight card, Adam Azim, one of the UK's most exciting prospects, faces the experienced Ohara Davies at the Copper Box Arena in London on October 19th.

Read on to see our predictions for each fight and our 5 fold fight night acca 🥊

Adam Azim v Ohara Davies (Super-lightweight bout)

Azim has rapidly rising through the ranks with a series of impressive victories, winning the European title in his 10th fight. His speed, power, and natural talent have drawn comparisons to some of the sport's biggest names. Davies, while possessing a respectable record with wins over the likes of Lewis Ritson and Tyrone McKenna, has faltered when stepping up to world-class opposition, notably against Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall. His recent first-round knockout defeat to Ishmael Barroso (which he attributed to poor air quality in his hotel affecting his sleep) raised further questions about his ability to compete at a high level.

Despite Davies' experience, we believe Azim has the tools to get the stoppage. While it may not be an early blowout, Azim's speed, power, and ever-improving ring IQ should eventually overwhelm Davies. A convincing win here could give Boxxer the confidence needed to give him a major step up in competition, hopefully setting up a mouthwatering domestic clash with Dalton Smith.

We’re predicting an Adam Azim stoppage in the mid to late rounds.

Anthony Yarde v Ralfs Vilcans (Light-heavyweight bout)

Anthony Yarde is back in action after his courageous performance against the newly crowned light heavyweight king, Artur Beterbiev. He's had a tumultuous period since that fight, with knockover fights and a public spat with Queensbury.

In a late-addition addition to the card, Ralfs Vilcans who is coming off a second round KO of Shefat Isufi (who fought Billy Joe Saunders for the vacant WBO Super-Middleweight title back in 2019), should provide Yarde an opportunity to shake off any ring rust and secure another confidence-boosting stoppage victory. A win here could pave the way for a highly anticipated showdown with Boxxer's light-heavyweight star, Joshua Buatsi.

We’re predicting an Anthony Yarde stoppage, mid to late rounds

Dan Azeez v Lewis Edmondson (Vacant British light-heavyweight title)

Dan Azeez looks to become a two time British light-heavyweight champion as he faces Edmondson for the vacant title.

Azeez will be looking to bounce back from a troubling draw in his last fight against Hrvoje Sep. He'll need to recapture the form he displayed in his impressive run of victories against Hosea Burton, Ricky Fielding, Thomas Faure or even the grit he showed against Buatsi.

Edmondson unbeaten in 9 wins, could be a dangerous opponent with the lure of the British title here. However, we think Azeez's experience at the European level should ultimately see him through to a points' victory.

We’re predicting Dan Azeez to win on points

Michael McKinson v Tulani Mbenge (Vacant IBO welterweight world title)

The awkward southpaw Michael McKinson fights for the vacant IBO welterweight title against Tulani Mbenge in what could be a fight of the night contender.

McKinson, known for his elusive style and defensive skills, has rarely showcased knockout power, with only 4 KOs in 26 fights. Mbenge, a bronze medalist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, poses a significant threat with his 15 KOs in 20 fights. He also holds a notable stoppage victory over veteran Miguel Vasquez. This could be a great stylistic clash, but we predict McKinson's elusiveness and ring craft will earn him a points victory.

Don’t sleep on Mbenge, but given Michael McKinson’s skills and experience against the likes of Vergil Ortiz Jr and Chris Kongo we’re predicting McKinson points

Jeamie TKV v Franklin Ignatius (Heavyweight bout)

Both Jeamie TKV and Franklin Ignatius are relative novices in the British heavyweight scene. Ignatius, however, has been on a better run of form, with wins over Steve 'Drago' Robinson last time out and a win and draw against Hosea Stewart.

We're predicting Ignatius by stoppage as he continues his climb up the british heavyweight scene.

Shannon Courtenay v Catherine Tacone Ramos (Featherweight bout)

Shannon Courtenay makes her return to the ring after a nearly two-year layoff to face Catherine Tacone Ramos. While ring rust could be a factor, Courtenay's experience should be enough to secure a points victory against the Brazilian.

We're predicting Courtenay to win on points.

Francesca Hennessy v Ana Karla Vaz De Moraes (Bantamweight bout)

Francesca Hennessy, a two-time amateur national champion, takes on the unbeaten Ana Karla Vaz De Moraes. Hennessy's amateur pedigree and experience should guide her to a comfortable points win, especially with the limitations of 2-minute rounds in women's boxing.

We're predicting Hennessy on a wide points win.
