Reigning World Champion Luke Littler and Mensur Suljovic appeared to be destined to meet each other in the third round of the Paddy Power World Darts Championships, at least according to Suljovic. The Austrian representative had apparently messaged Littler before the competition that the two would face off in the third round, and now it appears this will be the case.

Suljovic is coming into this eagerly anticipated third-round tie with a cloud of controversy following his second-round clash against "Rockstar" Joe Cullen. Cullen launched a scathing attack on Suljovic after he criticised the speed at which Suljovic was throwing his darts and then would seemingly spark into elaborate celebrations after taking an excessive time at the oche.

This will be an interesting factor to note against Luke Littler, given the ferocious pace the World Champion can play at. Littler has shown enough quality and grit, particularly against David Davies, who missed a set dart in the opening set to land one on Littler; however, Littler showed composure and eventually ran out in a straight-sets 3-0 victory.
